KMX 200 travelers bike, 1988-1989, 100% Thai Legal, 4 sale in Chiang Mai
40,000 Thai Baht, $1,112 USD, located in Chiang Mai. Lots of new parts and good runner. Comes with used saddle bags, luggage rack, tank bag, and tank panniers, plus small windscreen. New piston, rings, sprockets, chain, and evenything working except speedo/odo meter, but can apply bicycle one to give readings. Bike has been in storage for 7 months, started on second kick (first with key/ignition turned "On"). Has Thai legal plate/rego/Road Tax just paid and required third party Insurance paid through Nov. 9, 2009! It's a kick starter but starts right up. Auto oil feed (new resevoir and cables), tires about 50%, replacement CDI, sesaled battery, recovered seat, new rear wheel sealed bearings, ignition (keyed), water resevoir, clutch plates, fork seals and many smaller parts. I've been to Malaysia and Cambodia on this this bike, no problems crossing borders and returning to Thailand.
Based on the "paperwork" requirement here in Thailand, the "Green Book" (title/rego) and license plate alone are worth the price of the bike. I would be willing to sell the bike, less the book and plate, for considerably less. Reason for selling is I've got two bikes here, taking too much time to maintain, store, park and maintain. Bike showing about 44,000 k's, which is close in my opinion. Bike was featured in Kawasaki company magazine last year, and a second magazine called Backroads, and is known locally as the "Cult Bike" due to some of it's adventures and mild fame. I'm 6'2' and about 200 lbs. This is probably one of the very best "deals" for a legal bike here. To get the paperwork transfered would likely take 1-2 days in Chiang Mai with needed pictures, copies of passports (mine and yours), and filing documents, standing in line at 3 different offices to drop-off and pick-up completed Green Book and Insurance transfer. Serious buyers with questions (no tyre kickers please), confidentially contact globeridergreg@yahoo.com for recent pictures. Can be seen at HU Mini Meeting January 17 in Chiang Mai.
