I'm looking for an XT500
I'm looking for an XT500 in good condition for a project. All offers considered either in the UK or France. Doesn't have to be "equipped".

You get the odd one for sale in the UK Trail Bike Magazine - but you have to be quick (phoned up for one recently a few days after publication and it had gone).

Hi
Try www.classicbikes.co.uk, they have what looks like a beaut for sale. Expensive though. Sure you want one? ------------------ Sean

I just had a look at classicbike.co.uk Sean. thanks for that. You're right, seem pretty expensive to me. I might just have got hold of a 1987 XTZ600 in France with 28k kms on the clock for £1000. So that would seem a much better buy. What do you reckon ?

Hi
Sounds like a bargain to me. Can I have one? Or maybe I should wait for the new KTM V2.... ------------------ Sean

Hi,
Anyone looking for an XT500 or 600 might consider a quick trip to South Africa. About 10 XTs are listed every week in the classifieds here, prices range between 5000 to 12 000 rand ($US500-1200). 12k will get you a bike in beautiful original condition, with low kms. Then you can head out on SA's backroads for some of the finest riding you'll ever do. Shipping back to Europe will cost about 3000 rand. Even with flights, it's not a bad idea of scoring a decent bike. cheers stoker |
