Just a quick update regarding my plans for Dakar 2013.

The good news is my leg doctor here in the UK is prepared to remove the metalwork in my leg in the next couple of months (yea!), so it's full speed ahead now to get my funds together in time for the Dakar entry in May this year...

As such, I HAVE to sell a couple of bikes - my Heroes-Legend XT660Z Tenere, plus my 'spare' and essentially brand new WR450F... I have listed them both on ebay with full descriptions, but please feel free to ask any specific questions here...

To pre-empt the obvious one, I am looking for £4995.00 GBP for either bike.

To summarize the Tenere - which I imagine will be the most relevant to HUBBers - it is a 2008 model (registered in Aug 2008) which I initially took to the USA, and travelled all over for seven months (which was serialized in TBM magazine Jan-Mar 2010) and the subject of my presentation at Ripley that year too of course...

I then extensively modified the bike with new suspension, engine mods and a whole lot of other stuff, and raced it from Paris to Dakar on the Heroes-Legend rally in 2009 (again, the subject of a rather entertaining presentation at Ripley I thought!), and since then, it has had the odd trip around the UK, and down to the Pyrenees last year (July 2011), and has now covered a little over 33,000 miles.

Despite being beefed up for rally racing, it is also still eminently suitable as a long distance overlander - just a bit taller, better suspended, and more powerful! You can easily remove the power-commander and replace the stock air-filter etc. should you wish to eek out as many mpg as possible...
