FS: Custom built XR600 Adventure

Many of you have seen my bikes and may remember a couple of them. The most famous is the AfricaAlp, which started out as a Transalp and ended up like this...

Another that you won't know about is my long wheel base Samurai that I restored and installed a VW 1.9 turbo diesel...

These are just a couple examples of my work, I take alot of pride in my builds and leave no details unattended.

Now, what I have for sale is my latest build. Last year I decided that I wanted to run the TransAmerica trial and wanted a super reliable bike that I could depend on to get me across the trail with no problems. I picked the XR600 because of its history of being super reliable and none of the extra fluff that could end the trip early like radiators and e-start.

I started off with a decent 92 XR that was already street titled and had some goodies on it. I spent the next 6 months doing a frame off build.

Here is a list of all the goodies that I did to the bike:

Brand new crate motor
New FMF Q2 muffler
CR250 forks with fresh rebuild
CRF antivibe triple clamps and tall bar mounts
Protaper bars
New Billet clutch lever/perch/decompression lever
New OEM cables
SRC handguards
SRC case saver
SRC side case guards
SRC seal savers
SRC XR400 oil cooler bracket mounted but I never installed a cooler
Enduro Engineering grip heaters
200 watt dual output stator
Custom built AC/DC harness with battery
OEM Honda fuse box for accessories
Trail Tech regulator rectifier
Trail Tech Vapor with dashboard
Headlights from a european XL600LM with PIAA super white H4 bulbs
LED turn signals and electronic flasher
XR650L horn
Hydrolic brake switch
BajaDesigns switch controls
Cannondale waterproof on/off switch for DC accessories
Aftermarket flush mount tail light
Custom rally skid plate from Australia that holds 2 liters of water
DID X-ring chain and Tallon sprockets 15/47
Tallon/Excel rear wheel
Stock CR250 Front wheel
New pads
New wheel bearins and seals
All new swingarm and linkage bearings
Rebuilt shock
New steering stem bearings
New Guts seat foam
Alaska Leather sheep skin seat cover (the cover stained the seat a but Alaska Leather says that it should wear off when rode without the sheep skin on.

Will come with your choice of an Acerbis 5.8 gallon or IMS 4.7 gallon tank.

I'm am currently installing new knobbies that you won't see in these pics.

The GPS and bags are not included in the sale

The bike finished my TAT ride without one single problem. Even ran great at 13,000 ft. I have put 2967 miles in it since I built it, and it still runs and starts like new. The plastic is still pretty shiny with only minor scuffs frm branches.

It is happy from tight single track to 75 mph interstate crusing.

I'll post up more pics without the bags when I get the new tires mounted.

I'm wanting $3500 for this bike, you will not find a better built 600! Title is free, clear and currently in my hand.

I live near Louisville KY.
On September 15th I will be leaving to drive out west. I'll be going to St, Louis, Denver and LasVegas and could meet someone along this route to deliver the bike.

Here are the pics...

I'm sure I'll be adding more stuff to the list as I remember stuff.

I will consider trades for clean street titled KTM 300, 400, 450 or 525EXC's or possibly a super clean Honda Transalp.
