FS:2007 Honda NX 400 Falcon in Western S. Am

I am currently riding a Chilean bought 07 Honda nx4 Falcon in Peru/Ecuador/Columbia. It is a Brazilian made Honda 400cc enduro based on an xr400 motor. The bike has been immaculately maintained and is in excellent condition. This a popular bike sold throughout S Am and spares are (relatively) readily available. I could sell it in the north, Ecuador or Columbia, but I could also deliver it in Peru/Bolivia or even Chile/Ar (at a little extra cost). It is a very capable bike (if a little uninspiring power wise) for touring in S Am. I have lowered the front sprocket by one tooth which I recommend for off road and mountain riding. (have the original as well). Has complete paperwork for all countries in So and Cent Am. It can easily be sold to any Chilean citizen or any traveler.

I had an Enfield style rack made in Santiago and it is set up to carry a full size backpack (dry bags would be better if you are not trekking) on each side leaving the top rack open for day stuff and the pillion free. It also has auxiliary racks for carrying two 6 liter bottles (common everywhere down here) of petrol for a range 450 km. I have also added a tall windscreen. Black/Silver. 30000 km right now.

Right now, I am heading North to Ecuador/Colombia right now and will be finished in early/mid August, but I would consider selling it now if the price was right. Otherwise, I'll sell it in August.

$4500

Hi there,
Hope you sold your bike.
Just wondering where you got your racks made up?
How did they handle the job?

Cheers,

james

I still have the bike. It will be for sale again in August. I had the racks fabricated at medal body in Santiago.

glasswave: i'm rotfl! - ten out of ten points for that one! Bet the ol chap touring S.Am. with his Enfield was mighty p***d off to find his rack missing. No chance of finding a replacement around here I think.

You say you can attach 2 backpacks and a day pack & still keep pillion free... have you rode like this?? (the NX400 I mean - I know the Enfield will do it)

I'm about to buy me an NX400 in Santiago for a trans-SAm and I'll have my wife on the back. Combined weight without luggage about 115kg and we'll try to reduce our luggage to around 30kg (we currently carry rucksacks with a combined 50kg). Will the NX400 comfortably drag that all over S.Am? I'm hoping to take it thru the mountains, trans-amazon, to the east coast, to Buenos Aires and south perhaps. All terrains expected.

The rack is not from an Enfield, it is just designed LIKE an Enfield rack, I had it fabricated in Santiago.

Yes, you will be fine with that amount of weight, especially if you travel light. The toughest thing about touring a Falcon over say a KLR 650 is that it lacks any real passing power when at highway cruising speed (100 kph for me), especially at altitude. Down on the coast, I could cruise the flats at 120. I am a big guy (100kg) with camping gear.

I have also have had 2 up with gear for awhile and she does fine. I geared her down 1 tooth on the front sprocket and that helps a lot.

Hi,

I'll be in Santiago mid july and would be interested in buying if you could be there at that time?

PM me if you think it's possible.

Cheers,

Mitch
