I'm posting this KLR650 for my friend, John. He bought it 3 months ago (from another inmate, who also bought it from yet another inmate). His goal was to ride from his home in North Carolina, out to California and then back to North Carolina (via New Hampshire). The first part of his trip was great. He made it to Yosemite, where he parked the bike and went for a scramble up one of the domes. On his way down, his foot slipped... he slid down the ledge, went airborne, slide down another ledge, went airborne again and finally landed on a flat ledge about 100+ feet down... He ended up breaking his sacrum, a vertebrae (which came dangerously close to penetrating his spinal cord) and severely bruising his heal. He's incredibly lucky he didn't hit his head and lucky to be alive.
After spending a week at the hospital in Reno, he flew home to NC to begin the long road to recovery. Meanwhile, another awesome inmate helped get his bike to my garage (and that's a whole story in itself -- http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=888994
). Sadly, he won't be riding anytime soon and he's made the difficult decision to sell the bike. I'm storing it in my garage. So here's the deal...
