Forget the KLR650, I want a DL650 to buy in Europe

Well, I was looking to get the KLR to ride to South Sinai. But I have been converted to the DL650. I am presently in South America, but intend to fly to Europe to buy the DL650, possibly in a couple of months.

Whether I buy it new or used (so long as it is A1), I wanted to fit it out, or have it already fitted out for travel. My intention is to later ride through Africa.

Where to get one, I don't know. Any help is appreciated.

Buying a Suzy' 650V-strom in the UK

Hi there ...... The following is a link to a recent search I did for a 650 Vstrom on one the UK's top bike sales websites. If you want to see 'new' bikes too, then increase the maximum price to £5 or £6K. For a wider search nationwide increase the maximum distance to 200 miles. You'll see I've put the words 'heated grips' in to show bikes with heated grips. Leave this field blank .... Anyway, play about with it and It'll show you bikes (650 Vstroms) from where I live in Bristol because its got my postcode. Don't worry too much 'bout that, just click links to show you where a dealer is located and zoom out see it's location in relation to the map of the UK (London for instance). If you fancied looking for different bikes, such as Transalps or F650Gs's then simply change the appropriate fields to search for them.

From that you may be able to make contact with reputable dealers who could help out. However if you wanted to try and save a few bucks you could do a bit of research to find out what you're likely to get for your money, then maybe buy from a private seller when you arrive .....

I had to remove the 'hyperlink' and put a space in between the http:// and the rest of it (cos' it was doing strange things as a hyperlink). To get it to work; copy the whole of the text into either a new MSWord document (or similar) make sure the text is continuous, then either reactivate the hyperlink or copy and past into your browser. If all else fails .... the simplest thing to do is 'google' search for Auto Trader, then look for the bike sales pages.
You'll have to use a postcode though. So try BS16 1AU

&state=2727&sort=3&make=SUZUKI&min_pr=2000&source= 0
&model=DL+VSTROM&max_pr=4000&ccappr=650&agerange=2 &miles=100
&keywords=heated+grips&mileage=2&postcode=bs16+ 1tw
&ukcarsearch_full.x=49&ukcarsearch_full.y=9
Good luck Len
