For Sale XT600e Suffolk, England.

I am selling my blue Yamaha XT 600. Its a 2006 model so one of the last carb ones I think. MOT til July 2013 and tax til April 2013.

I searched long and hard to find a good one and this one is the cleanest low mileage example I could find. Its covered 7,500 KM so bearly run in. It was last serviced a 3,000 KM so next one due around 9,000 KM. Its been off road once so hasn't had a hard life.

I'd started modifying it ahead of a RTW trip but circumstances have changed and the trip is no longer going ahead. Selling the bike won't be easy for me but ultimately I don't need it anymore so best that somebody else gets some proper use out of it!

Modifications:
  • Renthal bars
  • R&G heated grips
  • Acerbis 23 litlre tank (original included in sale)
  • Viper exhaust
  • CRD bash guard
  • Front fender extender
  • Bespoke front headlight guard and rack - built by Gabe Bolton of Zen Overland (really top quality bit of work done by Gabe, if you don't know anything about him check out his website ZEN Overland - Everything Adventure & Off Road)
  • Bespoke rear rack and top box - again custom built by Gabe Bolton, fantastic quality.
  • Hepco and Becker rear soft pannier rack - ready for you to connect soft luggage to the bike

If I've done this correctly a whole load of pictures should be available here...

https://plus.google.com/photos/10455...ISejYTvquyMxAE

If interested best to email me at sjbuckle83@hotmail.com. Given the low mileage, overall very good condition and long list of modifications I'm looking for £2,695 ono.

Hello after being interested in this bike, I had done a number plate check on Autotrader and has returned that it was at 21,000 MILES in 2008.
Thanks

Thanks for the heads up Rfothy - you need to watch out you don't get an infraction for pointing out dodgy sellers on this site.....

sjbuckle - any comment?

Hi, well as this bike is a 2006 and autotrader is showing it with 21000 in
2008 i find that hard to believe, and do not think the autotrader is correct

The bike sounds immaculate and if it had 21 000 in 08 it must have over
30 000 5 years later,i think that would be very easy to spot .

plus autotrader is a pile of crap

cheers
Dave

The anomoly hitting me between the eyes is the use of KM in the first post and now MILES are quoted.
The DVLA free check confirms that this vehicle (registration PF06FVX) is not a grey import, confirms first registration in 2006 and it should, therefore, have mileometer reading for the clocks.

Hello guys,

Thanks for all your comments.

The bike's clock is definitely in kilometres. The mileage is just over 7,500KM but the speedo tells you how fast you are going in mph. I have full service history, v5 document and handbook etc. All is legit.

I really don't know how or why the autotrader checker shows a mileage of 21,000. I do not believe it to be true. If any of you came to view the bike you would see it is in excellent condition and there's no way it has covered those kind of miles. Back when I was in the stages of planning my trip I spent some time with a mechanic stripping the bike down to help me learn how it works and in doing this he continually commented about what excellent condition it was in. I can only conclude that there is an error with the autotrader system but I really don't know how this could have happened or what I could possibly do to change it!

I can understand Rfothy's reaction but I can't stress enough the excellent condition the bike is in and that it is perfectly consistent which the mileage shown.

Maybe Bianchi is right and autotrader in indeed "a pile of crap"

The bike remains available for sale and I'm happy to chat to anyone on the phone about it or arrange a viewing if anyone is interested. I have nothing to hide. 07739 729378.

Steve

Oh and yes it is a very big top box but very useful for storing plenty of stuff! :-)

Hello guys,

I've been going through the bike's paperwork and have taken pics of the service book and previous mots which are 100% consistent with the mileage shown. I really think there must be something up with the autotrader checker but there is nothing I can do about that.

If anyone is genuinely interested please do get in touch.

Thanks
Steve

Maybe it was 2100km in 2008? And had been recorded as 21000 miles by a dope mechanic or something?
