for sale colombia'ecuador yamaha tenere
Am selling my 89 tenere somewhere in and around colombia in the next 3 weeks - not really suited to a fellow traveller - it needs some work, its not a turnkey - maybe somebody living here who has the time or access to parts. Bought in chile 7 months ago for 4k dollars - god knows how much I´ve put into it ( la la la la la la ) - all `papers chile but am selling for roughly the price of a flight outa here to dublin europe if I can get it.
Main thing it needs is rear spring/shock to be repaired/replaced Possible new camshaft / camshaft collar Clutch plates - clutch is starting to slip 5ht gear replacement - (works fine but when we split the cases one of the 5th gears had marks - I wasnt using it before as i never liked the sound of it - couldnt find one in all of peru and had to leave it in as had no time to wait) Work done by me - new piston, timing chain, valve seals, crankshaft bearings, starter clutch, yamaha front sprocket, starter motor bearings, steering bearings, speedo cable, clutch cable, stator and pickups recoiled, rear wheel respoked with tougher spokes, new front and rear pads, new seat ( old one flew off the back of one of the countless pickups Ive had to get me from mechanic to electrician haha!) and 7000 hours of genuine blood, sweat, tears and despair.Chain bought 7 months ago was new did o-ring but its near the end, knobblies front and rear still have life. Rack for soft luggage - all the tools and tubes. Am currently riding it 300 kms a day here in colombia - all going grand .... so far ... bike may be cursed but could also be just a personality clash issue If it breaks down once more though it´s getting torched and obviously not for sale - (will sell fotos for 1 dollar of a burning tenere falling off a cliff into the carribbean ... in the case of this eventuality) f |
