DR650 SE (2006) For Sale in Scotland

I have an Australian 06 DR650SE in great condition that will be for sale shortly. I've just ridden it from Australia to the UK with no problems whatsoever. I rode quite a few 12 hour days quite comfortably on this.

It's on 35,000kms now and I changed the chain/sprockets in Greece about 4000kms ago so will be good for at least another 25,000kms. My trip totaled around 26,000 kms, with regular oil/filter changes every 6,000 kms. Valve clearances were checked every 12,000 kms.

Extras:
20L IMS clear plastic tank (I've marked one side in 1L increments)

IMS compatible Corbin seat- you need this as the original one kills your ass after about 5 minutes...

Pair of Andy Strapz expedition panniers (soft canvas bags) and the pair of metal frames that keep the panniers off the bike's sides (I also have two 55L Pak-Safes that fit these panniers for security)

Metal bash plate.

Screen

Heated grips (still fitted)

High Renthal bars (still fitted)

Hand guards (still fitted)

Loud double horn (still fitted)

I've taken all this stuff off the bike (with the above exceptions) and its now back to standard but its all for sale. I also have a spare clutch cable and some brake pads. It also has an alarm fitted (I have 2 key fobs) which I found very useful as I was travelling on my own and let me know if someone was touching the bike when i was dealing with borders etc. The bike also has an Australian Staintune exhaust fitted which is lighter than the original and sounds great.

I'm currently getting the bike registered in the UK which should be sorted out pretty soon (or as soon as I get the time to do it!). It was recently inspected by the VOSA and I only had to get stupid a 5w running light fitted to the headlamp which I've now done but need to find the time to treck back through to Glasgow to get it reinspected and after that I can then get it registered.

The only reason I'm selling is I already have an BMW 1150GS here which I left in storage when I went to Australia. I'm currently planning on taking it to the Suzuki dealer in Edinburgh to sell on my behalf as they'll put it on their website etc but if anyone here is interested in either the bike as is or with all the other overland kit, please PM me for further details.

Can't seem to get my photos small enough for this site but have uploaded a couple here:

Quick update: Still for sale. It passed its SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) test and I've just got the paperwork submitted for the registration this week.

Open to serious offers.

Last chance for a fully kitted out DR!!

Had to pay £££s for VAT/duty for our friends at HM Customs & Excise so only just submitted paperwork today to DVLA for registration. Should have V5 etc next week.

After that, I'll take it to the Edinburgh Suzuki dealer to sell on my behalf and I'll sell off all the overland kit separately on Ebay.

If interested, please email me at ya-honza 'at' hotmail.com

NOOOOOB alert

Hi Mike,

I just signed up for this site as I just moved to the UK last week. Been a member of ADVrider for a while tho. I can't PM yet until I post a few more, so can you please shoot me an email at dswenson@techtarget.com?

I'm interested in the bike + bits, so don't throw it to the wolves just yet.

Thanks,
Mugs
