Cheap BMW Feb 2009 South Mexico
Ok Im re-writing this due to the new info coming through and also the things I left out!
Its a 1987 K75 - to be available in south of Mexico Feb 2009. I have set a low price of USD1000 to attract attention due to the title transfer issue and because Id really prefer not to race back to LA overland to sell before getting on a plane. Im not certain that its not possible to transfer the title with the DMV california however please read mollydogs suggestion at the bottom on this page. Pictures can be viewed at the web page set up by the person I bought it from (I bought it 10th Dec 2008) - mikebikeboy.com It is registered in California until June 2009 and is in excellent condition cosmetically / mechanically. It will have done approx 60000 miles at the end of my trip (I have factored in that the odometer cuts out from time to time - currently has 38000). It has 3 hard bags and a tank bag. I am flexible with the time of sale, it can be done any time in Feb really. I can be emailed directly at joshsnave@yahoo.com or through the hubb. Thanks (this bike will also be available for higher price in LA if there is no interest!). Mollydog wrote the following which is why I will not attempt to sell it further south: The thing you CAN do is meet someone in Mexico, hopefully just over the Mex/Guat. border, and hand the bike/title over. At this point you will have your Mex. import permit for the bike. Go to a Notaria (Notary Public) and get a sworn, stamped, statement with your Passport (copy) and the new owner's Passport, stating you give permiso for new owner to ride the bike to the USA. Include all bike info. (license, VIN, import permit number, et al) You should NEVER, EVER mention the word SALE. Just say you've had to leave Mexico due to an emergency and your "good friend" is helping you out. (Parent died, sick, your sick, what ever). If you say SALE ... you will be dead in the water!! You cannot Sell anything in Mexico .... to anyone without paying massive tax and doing lots of paperwork. (same with Central America, far as I know) The Notary will translate into Spanish, stamp/sign the letter, you and new owner will sign it as well. Hopeful this should get the new owner through Mexico. They rarely check papers but they DO check from time to time Last edited by joshsnave; 22 Dec 2008 at 00:58. |
