Buying a bike in South Africa?
Has anyone from Europe bought one in South Africa and driven it back.
Any complications?

Also what are the legalities of riding a machine like the DR650 or CR650L back in Europe where it was'nt imported originally for emissions?

Some see SA plates and think of the Apartheid era. This can lead to theft and other unpleasantness.
 Best to identify your nationality on the vehicle so all know it. As for the importation you could go direct to the horses mouth and phone Customs and vehicle registration departments there?
