Bmw F650 Schalber Rally For Sale - Uk

Hi I have a BMW F650 Dakar Rallye (by Schalber) for sale - in the UK.
This is a genuine Dakar Rally bike from the 2004 event. It has done very little milage on a new engine 2000 miles (original was damaged) and the bike would make an excellent base for a prepped overland bike.

The modifications made to this bike are endless. Basically an 2003 F650 Bike, taken, stripped and modified to undergo transformation with a Touratech (Schalber) Rally pack. This pack costs over £7000! The work in both equipment and man hours that went into prepping this bike to what she is now is mind blowing. For a full idea of the kit involved in the pack see the latest Touratech catalogue but it includes:

WP rear shock, WP fork upside-down 250 mm, Yokes and Caliper support, Half-shaft, Braided steel front brake line, Fork protectors USD, Excel 21² front wheel, Excel 18² rear wheel, Front mudguard, QD couplings for fuel lines, RK chain (Rally), Aluminium sprocket, Aluminium chain guard, Tank kit with a total volume of 53 litres, Tank cover, Renthal Fatboy handlebars with risers, Acerbis hand protectors, Bracket for IMO and roadbook, IMO-100R50rallye, RB-TT, Handlebar controls for IMO and RB-TT (FB-Rallye 5), Rear sport subframe, Fairing, fairing support and side panels, Number plate base with flexible rally number plate, Oil cooler, Twin headlights with headlight Cover, Frame cradle for more ground clearance, Side stand conversion kit, Sump guard holder plated with aircraft honeycomb aluminium, Sport seat, Titanium race silencer with bracket, Modified original manifold, Shortened engine support, Footpeg mounts incl. brake and gear lever and larger footpegs, Xenon light, Rally ignition, Cutout switch, Short reach race throttle and adjustable clutch, Hi-viz tail lights (2), LED brake light, 2nd set of handlebar controls, Heated rally grips, Remote fan switch, Ohlins steering damper, Touratech rear rack, Engine "blue-printed" and "flowed", Dakar official GPS system mount, Touratech chain guide and protector, Touratech Nav Assist 05, Radiator protection.

There were further modifications made for the previous owner, not least changing every bolt from a BMW Torx Head to a standard Allen Key fitting!

She is obviously a used bike! I bought her in Jan 2006 from the original owner (and Dakar enterant from 2004) but I have done very little with her, two UK Rally events, She has not been used off road since last year and has been garaged ever since.

She has some spares that comes with the bike.

I removed the Rally and Sponsor stickers from the bike when I purchased her, in order to provide space for my own sponsors’ details etc. If desired, the originals could be replicated by any quality print/design company.

There is a lot of history and detail to this bike, and probably too much to write about here. Anyone with a genuine interest in the bike can contact me direct for further information.

AS I mentioned earlier this bike would be an excellent base for an overlander (possibly remove rear tank and have Ernie from Overland Solutions fabricate a pannier rack?!). She needs to as I am about to move overseas with a new job and will not use her for what she was intended.

I paid £8500 for her in Jan 06. I am looking for £7000 ono. I can send photo's of the bike if required.

Call Paul on 07929 777980 if interested or e-mail me here.

It probably still is for sale - it was twice listed on Ebay but failed to achieve the required amount.
eBay.co.uk: BMW F650 RALLYE - Genuine DAKAR RALLY Bike (item 190104497603 end time 28-Apr-07 22:00:00 BST)

I am sure it is good value for what has gone into it - but not for me.
Good luck to both Buyer and Seller

It also gives a good guide as to how to prepare an F650

Still For Sale

HI

Yes the bike is still for sale. I HAVE to sell it as I am about to undergo a 3 year contract with the MOD learning Arabic plus Operational Tours in Sandy/Sunny places. I will not get the chance to use the bike now and do not want it to rot.

I will let the bike go for a very good price - way below what I paid for it, adertised it for on EBay.

Someone is going to get a good deal but she has to go SOON!

Happy Days..........

if you still haven't shifted it when you go I'll have it ..... BUT.... am just starting a new company so would have to be on some sort of longer term repayment plan.... Or I could keep it for sale in the UK on e-bay and if someone buys it before I'v efinished paying for it then so be it. A strange proposal but it might be viable. I am sure that we could get a contract written up that would secure the value of the bike against my house or similar......

I know the guy who bought this bike about 6 weeks ago, he's entered it in the Cambrian Rally since then & is happy with it.
