Bike Wanted - West Coast US - 20 Feb 2009

Hi All,

Happy Riding.

Finally, tickets bought & paid for!

We will be flying into Los Angeles Feb 2009 with a plan to buy our bike in California before heading south through Mexico, CA and SA- 'till we cant go south no more (on our bike anyway).

I'm thinking San Diego might be our best option for second hand bikes and sorting registration, insurance etc, being UK passport holders? Can anyone verify or confirm this is the case and I'm not just dreamin'. Any advise or fingers pointing us in the right direction will be greatly appreciated.

I've been checking colinlist for bikes but they're mostly road bikes - I find. Is there a site in the US or Caifornia dedicated to touring?

PS: I'm registered for the Summer HUMP in the UK this August, hope to see some/all of you there.

Ride On

Dylan

Bikes in CA

There may be more bikes to choose from in LA, but check both Go to craigslist classifieds: jobs, housing, personals, for sale, services, community, events, forums and check both cities. You are sure to find what you are looking for eventually.

p.s you are going to need a California address to have the registration sent to and some time to wait for it before you cross into Mexico.

You should check the Flea Market subform on ADVRider:

Bikes - ADVrider

More dirt and dual-sport bikes there, helpful crowd.

Good luck.
