Hi Phill,

I have a 1983 R80Tic, (800cc) BMW.

She's had many mod's & looks more like a G/S, (on, off road bike) & lives in Cambodia on a UK plate. She's on a Carnet, but no problem in Thailand, as they have their own import doc's. You can stay 30 days, leave Thailand & if you like come back the same day & get 30 days again.

Mid to late August, could be some what wet in Thailand, that’s why I'm home for the “summer"!

I'm back in Telford, UK; I'll be in Thailand late Nov.

I would have like a bit more than $2000, as Changeling comes with aluminium panniers, large rack, spares, 42L tank, single & duel seats, ever thing you would need to ride over land from the UK!

Rik

Real bikes in Thailand are real expensive, due to about 100% duty and tax. Check out the forum on GT-Rider.com, there is a for-sale forum.

Beware: many bikes on the road are not legal, i.e. no plate or papers. In some places it'll cost you, if you get stopped by the law so I heard.

How long do you want to stay? Might be easier to rent, there is quite a choice.

If you want to buy looky here:

The Golden Triangle Rider :: Index
Home - Thaivisa.com > classifieds
BahtSOLD.com | Thailand Classified Ads | Ads for 27th Sep 2008 | Page 1

There is a 250 Honda Degree for sale at ST Motorcycles in Chiang Rai for 150000B. however, we decided to buy a new KLX250 for the same price instead. There is also a Suzi DR250, also in Chiang Rai. It needs a few repairs and an engine noise needs to be checked out, asking 95000B. References to these are on gt-rider.com.
