I'm currently travelling South America on a bike I bought in Colombia (XT600), and afterwards want to head up through Central to North America, but may have problems with a Colombian bike, so may sell it on again in Colombia and get a different bike in Panama. I've heard that Panama is a good spot in Central America to buy bikes kitted out and ready to go (Buenas Aires being the spot in South America), as people buy in the States, tour down and then off-load them there, is this the case? Does anyone know of a dealer maybe in Panama for good touring bikes, or will be offloading a bike around that time? Any help or information would be much appreciated!

And if anyone wants to drive down one of those fantastic BMW f800GS's they have a guaranteed buyer down in Panama. As long as they don't scratch my bike up too much...

Hey, sorry for the extreme delay to both Carl and Robfocus above, I{d forgotten I{d started this thread. To the two of ye, I created a post a while back, around the same time as this one about selling on he XT when I get back to Colombia. It will be for sale in Medellin from April, but i will be gone north, there's been a change of plan to my trip now, so I fly to Canada and get a bike to tour from there instead.
