bike wanted in the US

Hi everyone,

I'm in need of a cheap bike! A friend of mine living in New Jersey very kindly offered me the use of his Suzuki GS250 for a 2-3 month tour around the US. Through no fault of his own it looks like this bike will be unavailable due to mechanical problems. So that leaves me with an air ticket, no job, no home and now no bike!

So I'm hunting for a CHEAP road bike. Anything considered. I'm not a wealthy man and was intending to make this trip as cheap as possible (ie camping rather than hotels etc). So an old 250, 400 etc would be ideal. I don't mind if the bike needs some work. As long as it's all there and I don't need to use of too much of my 90 day visa, I'd be interested.

I'm flying from London (I'm British) to New York (could possibly collect the bike from anywhere in the US/Canada) on 31st July. PLEASE help!!!

Thanks for looking, Richard Smith

Hello from Montana. Good luck finding a cheap running bike. I am going to sell my CB650 for 600$. If you get out this way you can stay in my backyard and I will help you keep your bike running. Try looking at wrecking yards or dealerships for a slightly crashed bike. Shiny sells so if a bike isn't shiny the price goes way down.
