Biek rentals in Kenya/Tanzania?

Hello,
I'll be arriving in Nairobi at the tend of November (bikeless) and I'm dying to see if I can find a bike to rent for a week or two over there. I'll be in the Nairobi and Arusha areas mainly. I don't really care what it is -whether it's a moped, trialbike or an Africa Twin. Anyone have any good leads?

Thanks,
Wright Bagwell

I haven't heard or seen anywhere in Kenya to rent motorcycles. There is great riding to be had, and it is the only good way of traveling around Nairobi, but you'll be hard pressed to find a rental. Your best bet would most likely be to save up enough money to buy one while there, and then sell it again before leaving. You can find bulletin boards at the Sarit Center and the Yaya Center that list bikes for sale. Bikes vary on pricing depending on what the exchange rate happens to be at the time. You can buy a good bike that will get you anywhere without too many problems for $1000-$1500. It's not especially cheap, but it is about the only way you'll be able to ride while in Kenya (unless you have a friend who has a bike). Cheers, and good luck.
