Arrange Travel/Touring Bikes Brisbane Australia
I am trying to gauge interest to see if there is sufficient demand for the supply and setup of travel bikes. This could be on a buyback type program, or I am open to any sensible suggestions. I have access to both road and dual sport bikes.

Hi Glen,
I'd of thought that Brisbane needs to get on the map a bit more before it becomes a destination like Sydney and Melbourne. Most of the people I know tend to skip it or are only there for a few days. (Shame, as it's a lovely city)And if they are 'passing thru' they usually start at Sydney or Melbourne then up to Cairns or Darwin. Maybe if you could also offer a one-way service, that might interest a few people. For instance, when I move to Melbourne next year, if someone bought/hired a bike of yours and wanted to finish their trip in Melbourne, and if by chance I wanted to visit my parents in Hervey Bay at around the same time, and fancied a very sore butt, I could then hire/buy it off that person, ride it up to Brisbane and return/sell it back to you. Anyway, just a thought. If anyone else it reading this, there are some lovely roads outside of Brisbane, just take care on the hairpins of Mt Glorious, they're deadly. Good luck with your venture. Michelle. |

Michelle I agree that Brisbane is not as popular for a starting destination as Sydney or Melbourne, each city has their own points of interest that makes them special. Nowhere in Australia near a capital city is there more beautiful white sandy beaches as you find on the Gold Coast and year round mild weather. Enough of the hard sell.
As far as the one way rentals go that would only be possible if the volume was sufficient to warrant an agent or dealer in each state. It also gets very complicated to price return transport of a bike left in another state on completion of a hire. Thanks for the input Glen
