Aprilia Pegaso 650 '98 selling as project repairable/spares, hampshire UK
I have decided to sell my Aprilia Pegaso 650 1998 with 30 000miles as a project or spares as It needs the fuel system setting up and new chain and sprockets and I just don't have the time to do the work.
I used her as a courier bike for a few months last summer and she ran faultless and proved to be a very reliable and comfortable bike. For those of you who dont know these are basically the same as the BMW Funduro GS 650, which were in fact made by Aprilia and use the same 650 single Austrian Rotax engine. The bike is in a good condition especially the tank and plastics/fairings. I will look into selling it as is or takings parts off as sold. I have attached photos of her complete last summer. The engine is tight as a nut and runs a treat. My guess is the carbs need replacing as the floats are faulty, other than that she is in decent nick with the odd cosmetic blemish here and there. Please ask if you require any more info. I am going to eventually place the bike/items on Ebay when I get the chance to open an account, but I thought I would place an advert here in the meantime. So if any of you want a nice cheap bike as a project or first bike, please drop me an email at travis.cul@gmail.com ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 1998 Aprilia Pegaso 650 pictures by lostsaffa - Photobucket

Why not sell it for repair? It could give someone that all important first project bike. If you break it you will be left over with a load of bits no one wants as full time breakers are. And all the hassle of stripping/fleabay/postage/packing etc
Back in the 80`s I worked for my Dad in his bike shop & we broke dozens of perfectly repairable bikes, he`s now 75 years old now and still regrets not putting them on the road again. Especially when he remembers what we used for hardcore under the workshop (a flying kettle and a red rocket where just two of them) Time Team 3030 have such a treat in store ![]() It just looks to good thats all. Good luck |

Thanks for your message, and I think you are right. The resale on these bikes has dropped so much in the UK with the rising of the BMW GS type bikes and more modern adventure tourers, that although it takes more time and effort, A few of the components (ie. exhausts (imported from italy and almost new) and wheels/tyres) will be worth almost the value of the entire bike! Thats the reason why Im leaning towards selling as spares. However Im going to see whats what and look into selling as is as a project, and see what response comes of it.
Regards Trav
