2 X SUZUKI DR650's (2008) FOR SALE – COLUMBIA / VEN / ECUADOR? $4750 USD Ea

2 bikes available, built to identical overland travel spec
These are 2008 model DR's with 15 months of the 2 year UNLIMITED KM Warranty remaining, so what you are buying is ready to travel, worry free motorcycling.

Bike spec includes:

  • 30 Litre RVA Aqualine Safari Fuel Tanks (600km range)
  • Barkbusters (no bent levers!)
  • Pro Taper Bars with 1.5” handlebar risers (comfy long distance)
  • B&B Bashplate
  • Super heavy Duty inner tubes (30,000 km, not 1 puncture!)
  • Luggage Rack
  • Motosport Pannier Racks with custom bolt on soft bags (80 Litre Capacity)
  • Headlight Protector
  • Fully fitted Sheepskin seat cover
  • 12 Volt charger socket built in
  • Camping equipment (2 man tent, inflatable mats)
  • Full spares (New Inner tubes, sparks, fuel filters, 12V pump, tools etc)
We have just done BA > Ushuaia > Cusco on our way to Cartagena. Bikes have been superb. Will have less than 20,000 km on them (14,000 miles) when we finish in 5 weeks.

Selling as better option for us than sailing them home from Columbia

We will finish in Columbia, but can arrange to drop them off at your destination in Columbia / Ecuador / Possibly Venezuela

All registration documents (Australian), warranty and stamped service book supplied on sale.

For details and pictures of the build check out DR650prepand Picasa Web Albums - Barnaby - BIKE PREP - T...

These are new bikes, under worldwide warranty prepped and ready to go for that big dream trip. To build to this spec would cost you $7800 USD ea plus shipping them here and all the extras like spares, tools etc.

This is a bargain for anyone thinking of doing a South America trip

My email is barnabybrittan@hotmail.com if you have any questions

Thanks and happy trails!!

You can't go wrong with a DR! Totally the best bike for this kind of trip.

Interesting...
While I´ve read a lot of post about the KLR performance, this is the first post where I see a Suzuki.. an WHAAAT a bike! amazing setup! I´m about to start my trip around South America, and your post have got me pondering about using a DR650 instead a KLR -my plan is to buy the bike in SA and bring it to Mexico.
Do you guys know a website where I can find a comparative between these Models?
Thanks a bunch in advance!

Hi Nttra

NO sweat, glad you liked the web page and photos. I spent 12 months reading HU, Thumpertalk, ADV Rider, Yahoo groups etc and the build here is a concentration of all the info I received from the very helpful dudes out there in bike land. Thanks everyone....you rock!!!

At the risk of offending both Kwaka and Suzi riders, for my money they are pretty much the same bike. Kwaka has about 20kg more lard on it, but in return you get a stock tank that is actually usable. IN the end we wanted to go super model light knowing how much "fun" it is picking a bike up in sand and we are super happy with our decision.

SO is anyone looking at the post and thinking maybe, hmmmm maybe I want to buy one?! Is it the location that sucks for people or are people after cheaper hacks??

Tell it like it is HUBBers!!!

I guess I must confess I am in the second group... my budget is really tight for this trip.
would u sell the bikes separatelly? is the price final?
I´m about to star my trip by the end of march. That´s why the location of ur bikes is really appealling.
Best regards!

Hiya

For sure we will offer the bikes separately...if one sells and one does not so be it, we will ship one home

STarting in South America is ace, and you save yourself the PIA and expense of shipping from Panama to Columbia ($600 to $1000 from reports from other travellers heading down) and also the headache and bribery required to cross Central America

Serious offers anyone?!

Cheers
