Troopy Wiper Fuse keeps shorting out! Any thoughts why?
 

The wiper fuse keeps shorting out on my '94 Troopy. (dashboard lights have also gone out) I have spot lights and a winch all professionally wired in and it's been set up like that for 15+years so don't think it's an auxiliary wiring problem.

I've also discovered that the windscreen leaks and am wondering if somehow the water is shorting something out in the dash and if it's worth taking the dash apart and having a look.

Also, is there an easy fix for by-passing the wiper motor to the wiper switch or does that get too messy? I'm currently over-seas and don't have the usual facilities to repair things.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

It will be water dropping onto your fuse box older landcrusers have leaky windscreens . My one does the same thing

I'll have a look and see if I can prevent the water from getting into the fuse box.
