Tours/bike hire in Indonesia
 

At the back of a drawer buried for quite a while, I found the card for someone I met in Indonesia, who offers tours & bike hire. I wasn't with him, but he had 3 very satisfied customers there at the time.

His shop is a Honda dealer's, but the bikes were 1200GS. Oh and we weren't on Java - he'll cover other islands too.

There is also an Australian guy based in Bali who can arrange tours to Bali, Java, Lombok and Flores. They use both local and western guides.

I just did a 5 day Bali to Bromo tour with these guys and I'd highly recommend them.

I actually suggest rent your own bike and then plan the tour yourself. Had an unpleasant experience with a tour package back in 2015 that I tried settling legally, but package travel regulations (details here) don't cover it.

Anyway, Spanners On Tour got a great tip. But if you want a local to help you out, there are a lot of those in Indonesia too. Just make sure you'd get the right price for the service you'll get.
