Cheers

Paul

..picos...

Los Picos is the jewel here....do NOT miss Arenas de Cabrales, and take a couple of hours to walk the Ruta del Cares down and back. The cablecar at Fuente De is interesting. I personally favour Asturias (scenery)and the Basque country (food) to Galicia, and in that order.

Agree the cable car is a hoot and the road to it from Potes is good ride if the roads not too crowded. The N621 Potes to Riano is fantastic, definitely not to be missed. From Riano a good return to Potes is north up the lake then turning right on the N625 then right (East) on the LE244 to Posada de Valdeon; you're now on what in the UK we'd call a 'B' road. If you're lucky you'll see loads of Griffon Vultures overhead as they have a feeding station in the area near the N625/LE244 junction. From Posada de Valdeon (good lunch stop) you can go south on the LE245 (watch out can have a slightly slippy surface) and rejoin the N621 to do the best bit of the road back to Potes but mainly downhill this time instead of uphill. It's a great day out ride. If you're camping there's a good campsite on the right about 1mile outside Potes on the road to the Fuente De cablecar.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
