Which blogging sw to select?

Hi all,

I see many different blogs over here, so should be easy question to you:

I am looking options which blogging sw to use on a long trip. I want to write content when offline and then just quickly upload it to the server when I have internet connection. I am using mac, so need advice for sw which supports it.

Wordpress seems quite good option, but adding content is only possible when online (well, there is some offline blogging tools for this).

All suggestions are more than welcome.

Wordpress is a good option esp as it allows for a huge amount of plugins.

The next best is blogger - it allows for email updates and mobile phone text message updates. Easy to configure and to add additional content like photos hosted on picasa, videos on youtube etc.

I have been using WP for years and find I get into the stuck in the rut attitude, why fix it if it aint broke :)

With the APP for my iPhone, I can do it from the road without the lappy. I can also use an offline poster if I am away from the internet

I am happy with the support I get, although I rarely need it.

Cheers

I can't recommend WordPress enough - there's the simplest option wordpress.com or you can install it on your own domain (take a look at Dreamhost.com for REALLY easy self install options).

I've been using WordPress for years for The London Biker | The random thoughts of Matthew Cashmore and I love how configurable it is - or how simple it can be.

I write offline using an app on my mac, or the iPhone app offline until I hit wi-fi.

I recall reading somewhere that Blogger/Google has access problems in China due to their government attempting to control freedom of speech. If you're not going there or going through a Chinese ISP, it isn't a problem.

cheers

Thank you for the infos, need to take closer look to the wordpress.
I have used Dreamweaver CS5 for homepages, but for blogging it´s not good.

Looks like I've found an admirer.... :cool4: Thank you for your polite, well balanced and insightful comment. A quick google search produced this result:

Using Google/blogger while in China - Lonely Planet travel forum

Could have done more searching, but was a little busy, you understand. http://bikerbytes.com/images/jerkit.gif

Just use the HU blog.

Write off line in a notepad etc (or word if you are that way :-) ). Then copy and paste.

Photos can be preprepared on your Mac and uploaded when you are doing everything else.

Its free and easy to use

And it keep Grant happy :-)

I will write something also to HU blog.
Reason why I need separate page is that I need to write my blog in 2 different languages.
