Wash DC denies permit for 9/11 bikers

It appears as if 2 million bikers are going to ride through Washington DC
anyway. Not the DAKAR this is a WHACKAR!!! These guys just might
really walk the talk...

Any thoughts/ideas regarding a solidarity ride, with permits of course.

Report: DC denies permit for 9/11 bikers; Planners move ahead anyway | Twitchy

"Washington DC has DENIED our permit for a no-stop ride through Washington DC. We find this regretful for the residents and businesses of that great city, and humbly offer our apologies. What could have been a one or two hour ride through will now likely be an all day event. We will be obeying all laws. We will be stopping at all stoplights, stop signs, and yielding to all pedestrians.

RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES OF WASHINGTON DC: On behalf of the National “2 Million Bikers to DC” Team, please accept our sincere apologies. We did the right thing and went through the proper channels to secure a no-stop permit to ride through your great city. We wanted to ride an established route, which would have taken us past the Viet Nam Memorial to the Lincoln Memorial, across the bridge into Virginia, and that’s it! We would have been completely out of Washington DC, and your city would have been back to normal.

The National Team fully expected our permit to be rejected, and have already drafted a Plan-B.

Participants are moving forward."

sorry, and so? Do you know how many demonstrations, meetings, etc there are in DC.?

Several thousand, much less two million, bikers riding through DC on a no-stop ride would take several hours anyway, not the quoted two hours. They already said that they expected their plan to be rejected. They'll do the ride, it will just take longer, but so what, what's the rush?

I'm experiencing some difficulty getting riled up about this. A bunch of folks on Harleys who applied for immunity to traffic laws? Let them stop at traffic lights, like I do. Judging by the quantity and quality of their publicity--which consists largely of disjointed, all-caps pronouncements on Facebook and a lot of pointless talk about "TAKING OUR COUNTRY BACK"--they're not really deserving of much attention. IMHO, of course.

Clarifying the issues

Thanks for your responses.

If we puncture ground swells of discontent with inane rhetoric - "immunity to traffic laws" without recognizing the fact that:

by every viable poll the citizens of the United States of America have less than 10% approval rating of the U S Congress

"Just seven percent (7%) of Likely U.S. Voters think Congress is doing a good or excellent job. A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 62% rate the legislators’ performance as poor. "

[url=http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/mood_of_america/congressional_performance]Congressional Performance - Rasmussen Reports

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Monday( Sept 9 , 2013 shows that 45% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Obama's job performance. Fifty-four percent (54%) disapprove .

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

Look, if we do not support the peaceful expression of discontent with these polls, commonly called"taking our country back" then what options do those who are not dumbed down enough to accept the tyranny that is befalling us? These bikers may not understand that the U S is not a pure democracy as created upon the pirate ships plundering the caribbean in the 17th and 18th century, but they do know that the Congress and the President should be governed by the will of the people. Even as a Republic that we are, these approval ratings suck, and I am all for peaceful demonstrations to illustrate this fact.

You don't like my use of the phrase "immunity to traffic laws?" Why not? That's what they were requesting: being allowed to ignore red lights, stop signs, yield signs, pedestrian crossings, etc. They were denied their request. I'm not upset. They now state that they'll go ahead with their protest, but will stop for stop signs and traffic lights, yield to pedestrians, and in other respects behave themselves. Sounds good to me.

I'm all in favor of "peaceful expression of discontent." I do it all the time.

best,

Ignoring the obvious

Don't you see - the only way a protest "parade" or ride through DC could occur without totally disrupting traffic for most of the day, is for the million bikers to have an escort that bypasses stop lights etc. Otherwise, the protest will destroy transportation throughout the DC route for totality of the day.

Seeing the obvious is sometimes helpful, especially when it represents common sense.

Could two million riders "parade" through downtown DC without "totally disrupting traffic for most of the day" if they were allowed to disregard traffic rules? How long does it take two million bikers to pass a given point? How long a line is formed by two million bikers?

OK: how about one million?

Why do you suppose the organizers were so certain from the start they'd be denied a permit?

Just curious.

Good question!

Riding a couple, 2 or 3 bikes abreast - and basing this estimate on about 50,000 bikes which is probably pushing it, - average length of bike and space between rows of bikes staggered @ 10 feet,

I doubt more than 50,000 bikes would show up.

We would have a line approx 100 miles long traveling at average 30mph with escort, we need to know suggested route and exit dispersal routes. etc, But, I would say 100 miles of bikes would pass through Washington DC a lot faster with an escort and not stopping at traffic lights as opposed to conforming to traffic laws. Stop and go would be totally impossible within 24 hours.

Did you discover planned route? Hey anyone who did maths please help.

Three abreast? 30 mph? Sounds optimistic, particularly since even two abreast is illegal in DC, and the speed limit is lower than 30mph. But even allowing those assumptions:

Double the number of bikes and you've got a steady stream about 7 hours long. No pedestrians crossing during that time. No cross traffic. No allowing for breakdowns, accidents, parking, eating, peeing.....much less for ticketing all the illegal straight pipes. Hell, there's not even an allowance for former governors of second-tier states to pretend to ride for a couple of hundred yards in view of the cameras.

It's a joke. No one expected, and no one expects, to be permitted to do such a thing. The whole thing's a ploy, and we each get to choose whether we're going to fall for it. Make your choice wisely.

Good we have alternative media

For the moment....I am at a loss to predict the outcome of this. I will do a remote viewing session in the morning and then report.

One thing sure, if it looks even a little out of control, the main stream will
not be covering it at all. The very last thing the President needs right now is grid lock on the streets of DC just when he is dealing with grid lock in the House, the Senate and Syria...

I have labeled the event the "WACKAR" and only time will give definition to this new word.

What comes to mind is the rebellion of the veterans called the "Bonus Army"

One of my personal heros : "Retired Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler, one of the most popular military figures of the time, visited their camp to back the effort and encourage them.[1] " supported the veterans march on the Capitol.

I wonder if any living generals will lend their support to the bikers????

Major General Smedley Butler also wrote the book entitled "War is a Racket" as in Racketeering...... —— (1935; reprint, 2003). War Is a Racket. Los Angeles: Feral House. ISBN 0-922915-86-5.

Whew, I won't sleep tonight waiting for your report.

I lived in the center of Washington for several years, and there is gridlock on the streets of DC almost every day for some parade or protest or another, so I'd be surprised if the mainstream expressed much interest in this particular one. Is the "rebellious" nature of the act supposed to interest them? I'm not sure how you see any similarities between this non-event and the "Bonus Army"...

And I'd be very surprised if the size of this one comes even close to Rolling
Thunder, which has been going on for many years and which takes place on a holiday weekend, which allows people to come from far and wide.

A rose by any other name is still a rose

The "Bonus Army" was tens of thousands of veterans who congregated in Washington DC. This event is now or will be tens of thousands of veterans congregating in Washington DC for starters.

Check the updates I have already posted.

I've never heard of him previously but Smedley was quite a man, from the days when "men were men and women were glad of it"!
Nowadays hardly any US 4 star can complete a full career without some jobs-worthy getting in the way and making an accusation of some type or other that becomes a reason for resignation.

So, Wash DC is going to be full on that anniversary day with 2 million riders and 1 million muslims (according to the link in one of those earlier posts) - maybe some of them are one and the same??

Xfiltrate, it's a delight to read your posts and be educated by your insights.

Help Kickstart WW III

It is my opinion that this topic of thousands of bikers and thousands of muslims paying respects for to the victims of the 9/11 tragedy or with other agendas....is actually a page out of the playbook best represented by a YouTube Video entitled "Help Kickstart WWIII"

Help Kickstart WWIII - this short video is very disrespectful to our President so I will not post a link and leave it up to those who read here to find it on You Tube or not. It is a sad attempt to promote world peace by some well meaning people.

We have many bikers, who want to support the 9/11 fallen and veterans

We have a few bikers who believe all muslims are terrorists

We have veterans, some of who will experience painful flashbacks.

We have veterans, some of who will be heavily medicated.

I will leave it there.

We have U S friend and foe psychological operations programing

We have many muslims, who want to pray to their God for peace

We have a few muslims, who believe the U S intervention in their countries is terrorism

We have a few muslims who are terrorists

We have muslim friend and foe psychological operations programing

We have politicians who never "waste a good crisis"

What will happen:

1. There will be several isolated incidents - mostly clashes among the bikers that will be blamed on both veterans and muslims alike, and will quickly be controlled. One incident will be a direct confrontation between the bikers and the muslims, some injuries.

2. Looks like the politicians will ride this event for all it is worth to help forward gun control and police empowerment agendas and use it for funding purposes and perhaps - see the You Tube video described above.

I want no part of this. The fact that this - on some level appears to be
a tit for tat anti muslim - or is being portrayed to be anti muslim,.... troubles me deeply. Let us all pray for peace to our own God or Gods.

Sorry, to say more would be beyond what I know for sure. And, "Sleep tight tonight, your Air Force is awake."
