Dakar 2011: Jenifer Morgan, No. 173 AKA JMo (& Piglet)

Woo Hoo the Dakar started today - brilliant.

I'm gonna be glued to GB Eurosport every night - its my first one too and its going to be especially excellent because one of our own will be in it - Jenifer Morgan. Those of you that have been to the Ripley will have probably met her and know how awesome and hardcore she is.

JMo's Dakar Record Details

Go Jen, I'll be looking out for you as well asw rooting for you - Good luck.

xXx

Yes, fantastic event.

I don't have SKY this year but you can watch it on Eurosport Player Website for £3.99 (1 Month). Fantastic scenery on the recce for the event if you get the chance to watch it.

All the best to Jen, and hoping riders/drivers and spectators stay safe.

She was awake when she was transported to a hospital. The rumors says it's a broken leg or hip. There will probably be more information during the day.

Facebook update earlier says she's broken her leg. But in true JMo style she was more concerned with taking photographs than getting help !!

I imagine the first person after her stood the bike up, called it in and got on with their race.

It's a shame it happened so early on but then I guess if it wasn't risky we wouldn't want to do it

It was good to see her on Eurosport last night, she looked in a bit of discomfort but in high spirits considering.

What a bummer. If something like that was going to happen, given the costs involved, it would have been preferable to have happened later in the race so she would have more memories of the event.

If you get to read this JMo, "well done, you're an inspiration to the rest of us."

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
