Sad News- Chris Friedman
I'm sorry to pass on the sad news that Chris Friedman has passed away. Chris was a fantastic bike rider and traveller whom I and many others encounterd in South America 2002-2003.
I had an email last week from his family in the States. At the moment the cause of death is a suspected ruptured spleen. Chris was only thirty and this is a very sad time for his family. Chris was great company on some of those rough tracks through Patagonia on his Suzuki DR650 and also introduced me to the dubious thrills of Argentinian Pool Halls. I learnt a lot from him about riding off-road, mainly through just trying to keep up with him! I know he also spent some time with Punky and Lew among others. His tales about life in New Mexico made me determined to visit there someday. I'll be passing on messages of sympathy along with our thoughts and condolences to his family. Tiffany
