William and Harry going through Africa ?
Thats what the Daily Mail says.

The Princes of Wheels: William and Harry plan 1,000-mile motorbike trek across Africa | the Daily Mail

Martynbiker 11 Feb 2008 21:32

the papers talk cobblers........

The article says ' william owns a 175mph super Blackbird'.. so why does he look scared silly riding a tiny 125cc DT ?

Dodger 12 Feb 2008 03:55

I look forward to hearing about Regal fart lighting ,hopefully they won't crash into one another .
6 minders at a cost to the taxpayer of 100,000 quid ? Alot more than that I think !

Rebaseonu 12 Feb 2008 14:42

The fund-raising aspect of the trip sounds quite pathetic in light of £100.000 tax-payer paid security team. If they drive proposed 1000 miles that makes about £100 per mile for security.

"...hair-raising 1,000-mile motorbike ride across Africa..."

Caminando 12 Feb 2008 15:47

Lets hope this story (from a newspaper which supported the Nazis) is as daft as the editor. The thought of this pair of jokers putting their hands out for even more of our dosh is sickening. Lets have a republic right away and make these handout beggars work for a change.

Dodger 13 Feb 2008 02:08

Which one is William ?

Incase you or anybody else are unsure as to which one is William and which is Harry.

Harry is the younger one with ginger hair, who looks remarkably like one of Princess Diana's 'old friends'.

And William is the one Without ginger hair, and doesn't look like Prince Charles.

:confused1:

God help us all, perhaps they will use up more UK tax money to build nightclubs along the proposed route so that the Royal twits can fight outside them just as if they were back home in London.

Will the route be one long red carpet so the poor darlings dont get dirty tyres ?

Yes I agree, who could honestly say that they would actually like to be a member of the royal family?. What a sheltered life.
100k is 'small change' in the grand scheme of things when many Premiership footballers are getting in excess of that every week, Our Royal family bring Billions in trade to the UK, let us not forget that, before people spout off about republics and spongers, just look at the amount of money spent on fraudulent benefit claims and child benefits WE pay to families living abroad once one of their parents are established in the UK. We, in the UK are taxed to death, but then ask yourself who else is going to foot the 'bill' for all the wars that we keep getting involved in?.
A friend of mine in Spain could not believe it when I told him I had just received my road tax renewal for an 800cc BMW and for 12 months it is £64:nono:

Sorry that this as turned what is an Adventure travelling site into a political rant, but 100k to look after a couple of lads that are 'Princes' is 'small change'

My first reaction to this was 'F**k me.'

Try as I might I cannot expand on this sentiment.

Bikes like Blackbirds are all about pure speed at that's it. I defy anyone who owns a Blackbird, Hayabusa, ZX12, etc, to honestly say they've never opened it up on public roads, just to see if it lives up to the hype. It's the whole point of having one.

Habitual speeding may be fine for hangers on like Princess Anne, but can you imagine William's security personnel condoning him riding a bike that could double the UK speed limit with ease, or his entourage following him around on it? Of course, "one" would never take "one's" superbike over 70mph. It must lead the easiest life of any 150mph+ bike ever made.

The princes may have ridden quads and 125cc trailies around their country estates and he may well own a Blackbird, but trying to suggest William is a hardcore biker? Who are they trying to kid?

Dear Your Royal Highnesses...

Dear Your Royal Highnesses...

Although it might get a bit tight, what with Charlie and Ewan probably seriously considering our invitation to join us across Africa, we thought it only proper, that we extend an invitation to your(RH)selves as well.

To be honest, we'd MUCH rather take you two, since although you may be a BIT posh and all that, you have the GROOVIEST grandmother on planet earth. (She reminds us of our own nana's!)

BTW, please ask your nan, if she could tell us, where her grt-grt-grt-grt-grt-nan, Elizabeth I, had that GORGEOUS armoured corset made, that she wore during that thing with the Spanish.

OMG!! That girl would SOOOO have been on *an XT*, if she was around today!!

*an XT, is a type of motorcycle*

Anyway - you two royal highnesses don't have to bother with all those body guards and stuff - we're travelling on our own, and we're GIRLS! We SERIOUSLY don't mind looking out for you! It will be GREAT fun!

We reckon, if you *buy some used gear off ebay* and a couple of ratted XTs like ours, no-one will even KNOW you're them royal higness blokes.

*this is, when you buy things, that people used to own, but when it became useless to them, they sell it to the highest bidder...

a bit like, when Africa used to belong to your family, and when it became useless to them, it went to the highest bidder... only, ebay has a feedback system.. which helps you choose the buyers carefully, so as to not f*** up the whole transaction.)

But nevermind all THAT - we can sort it all out for you, just let us know when - and we'd LOVE to discuss all that kind of stuff with the two of you at the camp fire.

We look forward to your reply.

The XTGirls.

xxxx
