I can't reply via private message yet as I'm still a newbie and the site requires 5 posts before I can do that. that won't be long....

In the meantime, our tentative plans are to pick up a bike (suitable for 2 up with side cases and top box) in Manchester around Saturday, July 10th (are there any hire places open Sundays??)

The idea is to ride for 10 days from Manchester where to, we are not sure but we would like to visit the Isle of Man, Ireland and parts of Scotland.

If you have any suggestions for bike hire places or where to ride in the UK, that would be fantastic!

This is such a huge undertaking for us - thanks again!
