I must admit that I agree with motoreiter.

Enquiring about becoming a member, I recently asked Grant if it was possible to get a HUBB tee-shirt without the logo. (I have yet to reply to his reply - oops). But it would seem to be a possibility because personally, I find the logo a bit naff.

Time for a redesign? or is it just motoreiter and I who aren't overly fond of our logo.

baswacky.

Well, yes, I don't really see why HU should only have one design...that other site has several differerent designs, some of which I think are pretty cool, others, not so much. Don't make me come up with my own suggestions, because it won't be pretty!

likewise I would never design a logo!

Probably the best thing is to PM Grant or Susan and see what their thoughts are [or maybe start a new thread]. For me I'm not an administrator, just a general bod that got into a conversation with Grant about the patches [and roped myself into sorting it out], and have no say at all over the images or logos, so I can't say what will happen. Can see where you're coming from with having more logos, but unfortunately its not my decision.

[Grant, are you listening?]

friday night designs

i think the current logo is ace, and do not wish to dis credit Grant's current design, but i couldnt resist 5 mins on photoshop

The view is from behind the biker. Very crude sketch but might look cool on an arm or sleeve. Just an idea, but would be happy to 'clean up' if there is an interest.

The current logo is great for the website and even the stickers but I really dont think it would work on clothing, especially as a patch !

No offence intended but the logo could do with some modernisation (for the patch at least).. Then I'd be proud to show my support with it on my jacket !

Hey.. Does someone else smell a "DESIGN THE HU PATCH" competition ???????????????

I'm getting that there is a feeling for some that the current logo maybe isn't ideal for the patch

All I can do as it stands is work with the current design, so I guess you're right that maybe another thread needs starting for another design for this.

All I would say here is that work has been put into the logo prior to any involvement that I have had, and maybe the powers that be should be consulted [does anyone have a direct line or a crystal ball?] before this part of the conversation goes too far and people are disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Please remember that the whole point of the patch is that people can recognise you when you're not on the bike as being involved with HU, and if the logo isn't familiar that won't work.

But if the patch is so fugly that no one wears it, it won't work either. Just sayin...

I understand where you're coming from, but just complaining about the design isn't constructive.

I saw a need for a patch, so I'm doing something about it. If you feel so strongly then don't wait for someone else to do this for you. You'll be waiting a long time.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
