BUT the basic rules of polite and civil conduct which everyone agreed to when signing up for the HUBB, will still apply, though moderation will be a LITTLE looser than elsewhere on the HUBB.

Most users ever online was 779, 21st June 2007 at 06:46

What was that about?
The longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere, and 779 people were logged on.

How about setting a new record? Someone name a date and a time, based on the HUBB clock - but not 06:46 please.
Is that how the last one was set?

OK, daft, boring, middle-of-winter idea.

Wink 776 to go

Hmm, Maybe not such a daft idea!

Just need another 776 folk to join in to set a new record - maybe in the middle of the northern winter? Perhaps those in the south can set their own record when they are huddled around the fire in the snow (21st June - was there something about that date in 2007?)?

-- there's nearly 14000 members signed up to this website now BTW, so it is certainly doable.

I know that it is still a few months away, but why not plan it for the same date? For whatever reason, last year there were a lot of people using the HUBB at that time. This year June 21 is on a Saturday. I admit that 0646 is a little early in the morning for the weekend (mind you, during the week my alarm goes off at 0430). But that time was obviously good for the rest of the planet. So maybe we can tweak it slightly and pitch it about 0700. Any wimpy Europeans can always go back to bed afterwards. According to the world clock (timeanddate.com) 0700 (London) = 1600 (Sydney) = 2300 (Friday) (San Francisco) - apologies to any New Yorkers but your time will be 0200 - but then you claim you never sleep!

I hope the HUBB bar serves good coffee! So if you are around on the June 21 I'll get the first round in - 999 pints and 1 coffee!

baswacky.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
