Mondo Enduro, where are they now?

Just finished watching M.E. again and I cant help wondering where all the guys are now (Austin Vince excluded).
Are they still making long distance bike trips or did they have their fill of motorbikes and travelling after M.E.?
And the bikes? did they just end up in some scrap yard or did they sell them or maybe they kept them as a reminder of their epic trip?
Answers on a postcard please.

Interesting Question!

I'd like to know what these guys are up to also!
What's the chronology on these films? Did Mondo Enduro come first? Then
Terra Circa? I'm thinking Terra Circa came second, if so was it the same group of riders?

Neither film are widely known or distributed in the US. Shame, I've seen part of Terra Circa. Brilliant and fun!

Mondo Enduro came first, that and Terra Circa are probably the 2 best travel dvd's I've ever seen.
As far as I know all the lads are alive and kicking and Gerald Vince was at the HU Ace cafe meet a while back, some of the others turn up and ride at the Pyreknees-up held in July, and I believe the member that married the Columbian girl is still happy and living over there, and at least some of the DR's are still running!

Mondo came first then Terra,I saw clips of Mondo many moons ago & I have to say it was this that first inspired me to explore abroad on two wheels,Gerald Vince is my Hero,he of all the original Mondo crew inspired me to "just do it"

Never have bumped into any of them yet but I did speak to one of there fathers when trying to track them down in the 90`s while I was planning to load all my business & family credit cards up & doing a runner!:scooter:
Ive always had bikes since I was 8 and brought up on racetracks as my dad ran a road race team in the 70`s so it meant living in a caravan on a weekend at UK circuits!
1987 onwards I did the wife and baby thing and let the bike thing slip away, then 2 things changed/ruined/improved it all! MONDO ENDURO came on Discovery channel which if it had`nt just maybe I would still be married today!!
Then while on the compulsary 2 weeks on the Costa Blanca sat at a bar cleaning ice cream from young faces a loaded Cagiva Elefant parked up next to my chair.(never really noticed the childrens dirty faces after that)
From then on life was never really the same, I still have the VHS tape with "Dads motorbike video, tape over it and he`ll chop your hands off" written on it containing the whole lot. Then also I have a number of Elefants in various states but have used 1 in particular to travel most of Europe and UK. Getting ready to go further now!
My girlfriend and I have just been to Italy on the 10th Cagiva Elefant Treffen and been round the MV/Cagiva factory where my bike rolled out when new. Fantastic to see over 100 Fants together from all over the world.
Anyway a big thanks to the Mondo crew and hope I do get to chat with you some time.

Lois and Vince were at the Horizons meeting in Ripley last month.

Ripley 2010

I hadn't heard of Austin and Lois until Ripley 2010. I hadn't really heard about Mondo Enduro or Terra Circa either, only in passing but I didn't know what they were...

Well when I got home I downloaded them both, after hearing all about them at Ripley, and I duly watched them both. I also watched the first three Acheivable Dream DVDs that I bought from Ripley too. BRILLIANT!

I'm gutted that I didn't take the opportunity to go to Austin's presentation's and meet them in person. Nevermind, there is always next year or maybe even the summer HU meet. Lets hope there will be as many great speakers at this meet as there was at Ripley? However, I did get to meet lots of other very nice people.

xXx

You did well to find this 10 year old thread but yes anything with Austin in it is good and if you ever get the chance to see him live do so, unless you happen to have cracked ribs in which case you might regret it.

Yes, Austin certainly is a force of nature in his lectures. If you're the sort of person that enjoys standing outside during hurricanes you'll love them. They're not so much chalk and talk as protect and survive
