If your bike was a car/tuck - It would be a ????

I was thinking about how to explain what different bikes are like to car owners.. I used to do this all the time when selling bikes to new riders.

Thinking about it now (yer im bored).........

I compare my DRZ400S to a Jeep Wrangler because its good offroad, but can cope on tarmac and is pretty simple mechanically. Not amazing at anything but will do anything without complaint.

I compare my Africa Twin to a Landrover Discovery as its big and lardy, built mainly for the road but like a bit of rough now and then..

My friends BMW1200GS to a Cadillac Escalade because they are both overpriced lardy useless machines sold purely on Marketing and image. :smartass:

My CCM would be a two wheeled version of:

Except probably a bit slower

My trusty old XT500:

would most likely be an old Lada Nova Estate:

Cheap, easy to fix, yet always needing a bit of attention, will break down, where no other car will fail, yet for it's sturdy purposefulness you love it dearly. :rolleyes2:

Cheers,
Greg

My TT600R '03, although not flawless, i'm still loving it after 17 months on the road!

And my car would be:

Lada Niva!! ...cause i like them!

the similarity is in the low-tec/simplicity and can-do-all-as-long-your-not-in-a-hurry kind of way, i guess.

suerte!
