Talking Horizonsunlimited Third world schools assistance

How about this for an idea for all you selfish/brainless travellers
Every traveller should carry 75-100 boxes of crayons,a thing every young kid can enjoy anywhere all over the world from Cambodia to Colombia every kid loves to colour.
The idea would be that 100 boxes of simple crayons 1 doesn,t cost a load of money 2 shouldn,t take up to much space in your huge pannier, tank bags etc.
You then in your adventurous ways get to find a little school in the wilderness,go visit them actually talk to a teacher and with her permission then talk to her class, you may not speak the language,so you,ll have to make an effort to be understood.
Explain to them who you are and what you,re doing in their country.
Show them your bike, explain it,s battlescars etc.
Then hand them out some crayons and take a photo!!!
Yes I known it,s not much, but they,re kids they don,t want much and they,ll remember most of all the day the funny guys on the motorbike came to their school.

DO WE HAVE ANY VOLUNTEERS

I will for one

OK Al,

I will take you up on the challenge. We leave in April and should visit plenty of so-called 3rd world places.

Haven't put any thought into this, soi if there are further considerations not to do this, then perhaps I Will reconsider, but certainly on first thoughts seems like a good idea.

ALso, having a landie, plenty of room ......

Talking No irony

There is NO irony here.I am absolutley serious.I think it,s about time people here made an effort instead of just being passers by!!!
It,s very simple and effective idea and if there are any suggestions to improve it lets hear them!!!

One more time

This is not a wind up,piss take or troll or any other twattish endeavour.I,m very interested in this one.
It,s time to realize that we are spoilt if we can afford to bugger about on motorbikes and we should make an effort help and educate whilst we travel.

Most "Westeners" who can afford to go on holiday overseas are spoilt when you look at it from a global point of view. But, of course, it's not just overseas that needs help and education etc. Charity starts at home... but it is frustrating when you live in a country that's perfectly able to look after it's own but still does a crappy job of it.

In terms of participation in your most excellent plan, it probably won't include me. That's not to say that it's a bad idea, I just prefer to travel light and help poorer folk in other ways (as I mentioned in the "Brainless & Selfish" thread).
