The time has come to say goodbye .....

. .......and hello!

In 4 days we finally leave on the adventure of a lifetime. In the 3-4 years of planning I read many of these good bye messages and never believed it would be me one day!

I have to say a massive thank you to everyone on this forum who has helped me learn the difference between 2wd and 4wd, Land Rover and Toyota (sssh now!) LOI and Visa etc etc. When I first came to this forum I was wet behind the ears and dreaming of adventure. I am now wet behind the ears and looking for adventure - and about to find it!

Thanks to the many people across the world who have helped, got in touch and just generally helped me pass the time of day at work.

And the final thanks go to Grant and Susan for creating such a brilliant community and dedicating lots of their lives to helping others find their dreams!

---------------------------

So....

We leave from UK through Europe and then lots of places ending in stan and eventually get to Australia, taking hopefully two years, and coincidentally arriving in time for the Ashes 2010 and a bit later the Rugby world cup in NZ. We hope to maybe work in Oz and carry onwards from there in 2012/13, but who knows what sort of people we will be by then?

You can follow our adventure on the website:

Jenny and Ollie's Big Trip

See you on the road somewhere!

Thanks for everything, everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS if your in Cornwall for Saturday come to our party ... pm me for details ...

Smile Great Party

Hey Ollie and Jenny,
It was a really good party from the Hog Roast in the afternoon (with a fantastic setting looking out to sea) through to the late night partying in the barn.
It was good to meet up with you and some of the other travellers who came down for the weekend- if ExtremeGene tries to spread slanderous rumours about me turning up at Porthcurno in my fluffy slippers, don't believe him!

Have fun on the road and I'll see you both dreckly in Tajikstan.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
