Heads up for Feb09 issue of MSL

Motorcycle Sport and Leisure is the one bike mag I buy most months and the Feb09 issue has excelled itself. So much so I think I ought to take out a regular subscription. The traveller content has risen over the issues and it's now almost as relevant as the defunct Motorcycle Voyager mag.

Kevin Sanders on p102 is the one contributor I read first and as always his article gives much food for thought. Kevin's articles alone have been worth buying past issues, with discussions ranging from camping equipment to the psychological profile of various rider types. I might not learn as much as a complete novice, but it's nice to have confirmation from an expert that your preparations and ideas are at least headed in the same direction.

HUBBer Discobiker's accident is covered in a five page story together with graphic images. Wow. Fortunately there wasn't a pic of Damien's foot that "was pointing 180 degrees in the wrong direction and attached only by ligaments and tendons." And respect to Linzi for support in going out to Montenegro to recover the bike.

In an article on p75 there's a mention of HUBBer Steve Attwood (currently in South America with his wife Debra) in relation to long distance touring around the States.

And on P46 there's biker fantasy with shed loads of unrestored vintage bikes.

Even the bike reviews are interesting with the new Daytona 675, the Moto Morini Granpasso, a mega scooter and a look back at the XT500.

Excellent, I subscribe as there's no other way to get it over here in la belle France.
I've been reading it on and off since 1960 something.
I shall look out for the post lady, in about half an hour with a bit of luck.
