I agree. It't not 100% accurate but It does help to compare the prices around the world and you cant expect it to be EXACT !Obviously prices fluctuate around the country too and world markets change fast too.

When I was in Venezuela, I paid upto 6 cents a litre at the border town... ROBBING BASTARDOS

I never expected it to be 100% accurate but some of those prices are way off from reality. For example, the price of petrol in Norway is about 30-35 US cents more expensive than it says in the list.

The world is a certainly a worse place because everyone has not yet achieved your rarified level of worldly sophistication, but I hope that its OK with you if some of us leave home and bumble around in unfamiliar places every now and then. Shouldn't you reserve your scorn for the large majority of Americans that don't even have passports and have no interest in going somewhere as remote and exotic as Europe?

It's about skimming the "Most Popular" page in Google News and seeing how stories rank in popularity. Invariably, celeb stories and the latest on the reality TV show du jour remain there several days in a row, while meaningful news drops off the radar. A sorry commentary on our society.

Wink

For my two cents bit, the real point is currency exchange rates: you will lose, or gain, far more on that front than a few % points on the price of petrol - here, the UK is suffering quite a bit right now, but it will all settle down in the big scheme of things (but as I'm not "here" who cares?).

ps Fuel in the UAE is about £1.20 a gallon right now: that's the UK Imperial gallon, not that piddling little USA thing!
At that price you just don't care!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events (22 this year!); we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, the HUBB or to receive the e-zine. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
