Ride Far 17 Feb 2009 10:37

For you practical jokers ...

So you’re heading to South America or Africa or Asia with a riding buddy or two. You’ll be riding some remote territory and lodging in some out of the way places. The comforts and convenience of the Western world will be far, far away for a long time. Your diet will be chicken and rice, mutton and rice, chicken and rice …

For a little fun, pack a McDonald’s bag along with your important documents. Along with a couple of empty Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese wrappers and ketchup packets and a French fries box.

Then, when you’re in a plausibly sizable city like Oruro, Bolivia, or Dolisie, the Congo, wait for the right moment … and set up your McDonald’s “gear” at your hotel while your riding buddy is off somewhere.

He or she comes back … sees that McDonald’s bag …

“McDonald’s?! Where did you find THAT?!?!” You can take it from there …

I will not be held liable for any injuries that you may suffer at the hand of your victim.

Enjoy & ride safe.

Mark

Like it!

Nice one Mark :mchappy: and how about a Geordie version of your practical joke:

Take with you and set up : four empty Newkie Brown bottles and a Pukka Pie wrapper!

This could continue.....

Cheers for the laugh.

This story reminds me of a prank played back in the early to mid fifties. At that time there was rationing and 'foreign' fruit and veg was very difficult to get hold of. My father used to get boxes of food sent from time to time as you were allowed private imports providing you did not export any currency. We used to get food parcels ( in the UK ) from both India and Kenya ( How the world has changed).
One shipment included some banannas. Placing a fresh empty skin on the pavement near a greengrocers in the town caused quite a commotion :) as everyone who saw it thought the shop had banannas for sale ( and were holding them back).

Good trick :thumbup1:

I think I would have to change the Macdonalds wrapper for something resembling nice food though.

I have to admit after travelling for 3 months I did stop at the US chain restaurant Apple Bee's to get some "comfort" food. I would _NEVER_ eat there in the US as it is big corporation boil-in-bag high salt junk food. But hell, I had a rough day standing in line in the Guatemala City US Embassy with 100 babies queued up for adoption and had to recount my getting robbed story several times.

I enjoyed it. I reallllly enjoyed it.

You will be surprised what you crave when you can't get it.
After 21 months in S.E.Asia i would have given my left nut for a fried bologna sandwhich,or even a can of vienna sausages w/louisiana hot sauce...:scooter:

The MacDonalds wrapper would have been good but the 'Burger King' one got me really well!

Thanks ya Joker!
