Dakar 2011: Jenifer Morgan, No. 173 AKA JMo (& Piglet)

Woo Hoo the Dakar started today - brilliant. :thumbup1:

I'm gonna be glued to GB Eurosport every night - its my first one too and its going to be especially excellent because one of our own will be in it - Jenifer Morgan. Those of you that have been to the Ripley will have probably met her and know how awesome and hardcore she is.

Yes, fantastic event.

I don't have SKY this year but you can watch it on Eurosport Player Website for £3.99 (1 Month). Fantastic scenery on the recce for the event if you get the chance to watch it.

All the best to Jen, and hoping riders/drivers and spectators stay safe.

Sh*t indeed, anyone know what happened/if shes OK?

AliBaba 6 Jan 2011 08:46

She was awake when she was transported to a hospital. The rumors says it's a broken leg or hip. There will probably be more information during the day.

GasUp 6 Jan 2011 09:18

Facebook update earlier says she's broken her leg. But in true JMo style she was more concerned with taking photographs than getting help !!

Get well soon jeiger. I'm sure you'll enter the race again next year :mchappy:

We are working on getting her phone to work in Chile as she crossed over the boarder yesterday. I will keep you all informed of progress

I imagine the first person after her stood the bike up, called it in and got on with their race.

It's a shame it happened so early on but then I guess if it wasn't risky we wouldn't want to do it

I feel for Jenny for her race being over and would like to send my best wishes to a very remarkable woman, i look forward to seeing Jenny again at Horizons this summer, a true inspiration to us all.

henryuk 7 Jan 2011 08:26

It was good to see her on Eurosport last night, she looked in a bit of discomfort but in high spirits considering.

Tim Cullis 7 Jan 2011 10:43

What a bummer. If something like that was going to happen, given the costs involved, it would have been preferable to have happened later in the race so she would have more memories of the event.

If you get to read this JMo, "well done, you're an inspiration to the rest of us."

geoffshing 7 Jan 2011 11:07

Good Luck..?

Prior to her setting off did someone say THE good luck gesture..."Break a Leg"..? Aaaargh and NEVER say "MacBeth"...... doh Doh!
