I would have thought he would have been a fair way in front of her?

After a long search I found this... I knew I'd heard it somewhere, it was over at ADV.

It reads like he might have been with her but of course in retrospect it looks like Simon Pavey was the messenger and I was doing bad math: 2 + 2 = 5 doh

Well, if you see her bike is up, so someone was already with her (probably the Italian rider, Cusumano)...

The Euroshite reporter loves him so much, I expect him to have a tube of KY in his hand instead of a microphone at some point in the rally.:censored:

No, why should he? She had gotten help from other(s).

Very very funny.

I now know (thanks to palace15) that KY can be used instead of a microphone, never know it might come in handy some day. :D

[Insert transition back to Jenny here (or don't :nono:)]

Not when he's so far behind her...... and has a chance to get past :innocent:

It's a shame Simon Pavey's not getting more of a mention on the coverage. I know he's 'only' in it to get the the finish line, but it would still be good for some of the other riders (apart from the top 10) to get some coverage too! So far I've only seen a brief mention of any of them, and that seemed to be a lighter, more comedic insert into the main programme! I suppose lack of air time . . . . (being generous).

the way they were talking on the programme, i got the impression they are not 'required' to stop to render assistance, but if they do they get the time back because the GPS registers the time stopped. so it wouldnt have cost him anything to stop. unless thats only for the 1st man on the scene?

yes thats probably it, cars buggies bikes quads and trucks to fit into a 30min slot with 15mins of ads and fancy graphics. the live show was pants, just never ending interviews with blokes with no time to talk!
i agree it would be great to see si and the other privateers get more of a show, charley boormans 'race to dakar' was a far better show from that point of view, showing some of the prep and headache that goes into the rally for guys who dont have a support truck(s) and ten man team.

JMo if you read this get well soon, hope its not too serious and dont let it ruin the memories. going to have another go?
