i was lookng the other day at a new transalp with a grey paintwork which had gps co-ordinates in the paintwork. as i did'nt have my gps or a pen i could'nt write/save them. does anyone know where they lead to?
not that it matters but i'm curios!

as i'm a man i do not need to read instructions.:innocent:
the other day after spending lots of weekends stripping and preparing my bike/new bits etc it was ready to fire up and test ride.everything was ok until i tried to switch on the heated grips and nothing worked! quickly checked the wiring and all was good, so out came the electrical tester to find the problem was obviously in the switch. she who thinks she must be obeyed came in the garage and i explained the predicament of taking back said switch etc.
have i read instructions she asked?
of course i have'nt.
said woman comes back in garage with a fat smile and my grips start to work! hold the ON button for 5secs! it's a safety feature to stop idiot's like me knocking on accidently. DOH!
luckily though otherwise i'd have made a t**T of myself in a bike shop!!!

anyone made a similar idiot of themselves?

Got a brand new, chinese bike delivered to our front door in a crate. Bike Whisperer (bloke) starts assembling it, without reading instructions. Yeeeaaarrs of experience, obviously - no need to read instructions.

Bike complete. Doesn't start. Try lots of things. Still doesn't start. Starts taking bike apart. Get electric meter out. Starts testing. Following wires, removing more bits. Finally surmises that bike is faulty.

NO LESS THAN 2 HOURS LATER, I (female) decide to look at instructions (secretly, since it won't do to double guess male ego).

Instructions says (in big red letters):

IMPORTANT: MOTORCYCLE WILL NOT START WHILST SIDE STAND IS DOWN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

Col de la Bonette, supposed to be the highest road in Europe, though I've seen challenges to that.

Does it mean that all TAs have to go there?
 

I've noticed those Lat/Longs as well: I could not be bothered to look them up, other than to guess, going by the location of the UK, that they have to be somewhere in the Alps (as in TransAlp).
Is that cheesy or what?
As far as I can tell, all of the TA paintjobs have the same coordinates.

I read that the highest road in europe was in southern spain. I read this in a BMW tours advert and it showed a photo of a rider smiling and the caption said 'delighted after just riding the highest road in Europe'

I believe it was near Alhambra.
