I'd just like to take this opportunity to thank Phil Gunn for all his efforts in
getting a replacement air shock for us.

Three of us shipped our bikes out to Malaga and rode them to Morocco on
a 3 week spin. After only a couple of days the strut inside the air shock of
my brothers XChallenge broke, luckily he had just pulled in behind me when
it went.

We contacted BMW Ireland and they could do nothing for us inside of a
week, but then we gave Phil a call, I think it was half an hour later he had
sourced a shock from another bike and was arranging to get it to us.

While we were waiting for the shock to arrive we got a shock from
something else (god only knows what it was) which got us mobile for
a while, well at least untill the weld broke.

Sincrest thanks Phil. yer a true gent.

BTW, we called to the HU Meeting in António Caldeira had organized in
Maadid where we spent two nights and watched some brilliant presentations.

For X-Challenge riders, that's a pretty worrying sight. Any clues? What are BMW saying? Let me guess - 'One-off, never seen it before'. Just like the G-Spot holes in the bladder and the snapped foot pegs. I love this bike, but it does worry me...

Suerte, Dan

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
