Global Women Who Ride Project

Hello everyone, I am looking for interesting motorcycling women to profile as part of a new project called "Global Women Who Ride". My aim with this project is to highlight women motorcyclists across the globe and provide an insight into what a motorcycle rider in another country looks like, what she loves about riding in her particular part of the planet, and what commonalities and differences there are in her riding experiences vs. those of other riders.

I hope to cover a woman rider from every country across the planet. These riders will be featured in my blog and hopefully eventually also be a part of a full-color coffee table book at some point, if I can find a publisher.

The kinds of people I am looking to profile are very simply - people who identify as women and are passionate about motorcycling. The more diversity the better! By diversity, I refer to variety of experiences, passions, stories, ages, appearances, abilities etc. No experience is too small or unimportant! More than one person per country is ok too!

I anticipate that participation in the project will take up 1-2 hours of your time where you fill out a small questionnaire and email it back to me with a few high quality photographs of you with your bike. We can also do a Skype call if you don't like typing.

Knowledge of fluent English is not a strict requirement! I have access to a lot of people who speak languages other than English who could help with translation, if the rider in question is more comfortable speaking another language.

How you can help:
1. If you are a female rider who would like to be a part of this project, please contact me!

2. If you know of a female rider in your country/area or another country/area who you think would be a good candidate for this project, please connect her to me as well.

3. If there are regional motorcycle forums where this is likely to be seen by more people, please cross-post a link to my blog post on there [url=http://www.red-baroness.net/blog/2014/01/08/the-global-women-who-ride-project/]The Global “Women Who Ride” Project

I'd say it's in the right place
I've contacted you and got a reply back privately after seeing the post on ADV.
I'd say, like me, most people visit intermittently - I check HUBB about once or twice per month depending on life

Ah, got it. Ok, as long as people are seeing it.

I have been reached by a lot of amazing women, so the word is spreading for sure!

The first interview with a rider from the UK is up: [url=http://www.red-baroness.net/blog/2014/01/12/women-who-ride-uk-jordan-sprott/]Global Women Who Ride – UK – Jordan Sprott

I'm happy to take part as well - I think you're already trying to get in touch with me via Gaila as she messaged me about a similar projet.

Hi redbaroness,

I would like to participate in your project.

Two years ago, a photographer in Buenos Aires was working on a project about women whose activities and lifestyle were a source of inspiration for others. He took some pictures of me with my motorcycle. This was my favorite one:

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
