Best way through the Pyrenees

Hi, spending a couple of days in Barcelona, back on the R1200GS tomorrow. Does anyone have suggestions about the best route to take over the Pyrennes from Spain into France? Oh, I don't do motorways ... Thanks

IMO, from where you are, go more or less due north toward Puigcerda (the tiny Spanish enclave within France) and onward from there to either Axat or Foix (It kind of depends where you are heading after that).
I particularly liked the road between Mont Louis and Axat but it is not fast!
You won't find the option of a motorway that far from the coast, until you get near Toulouse/Carcassonne.

By the way, as a first post, you would get more information by looking in the route planning forum, but welcome here in any case!!

Thank you so much, that is very helpful. I will take the route to Axat it looks fantastic. I only registered with HU today so I am still getting used to postings and forums. I really appreciate your advice.
