thought this might be fun.

what are your favorite s from around the world??


these are my favs,

Africa: castel (french speaking west and central african countries)

Asia: laos (one of the best in all of asia)

Australia: james boags pure(good lighter taste (a blonde)), James squire golden ale (very good ale)

American: shiner bock/blonde/hefeweizen (still finalising favs. cheap and amazing)

europe: don't even what to start this one

can't remember the others.

Mexico: Negra Modelo
Irish: Guiness
Japan: Asahi Black Kuranama
England: Innis & Gunn Rum Cask

All-time favorite: England: Wychwood Breweries Hobgoblin

Better than Irish Guiness is Nigerian Guiness, but better than either is Gambian Guiness.

I also prefer dark s and give the thumbs up to Innis & Gunn rum cask, don't forget Marstons oyster stout, also worthy of a mention are

South Africa: Castle stout

Cambodia: Black Panther stout

Vietnam: Vietnamese Black

Germany: dunkel weisss

Malaysia: The Guinness was good but did give a bad hangover even when drunk in moderation

Hawaii: Kona brewery Pipeline porter

A nice touch in some Kenyan places is being asked, "Warm or cold?" when ordering a Tusker. A hangover from Brit colonial times, and is proof positive there was a time when we liked warm . (I don't much like cold Guinness, warm's much better).

Taybeh, Palestine (from a small Christian town, but export version is from Belgium). Available in London once but I can't find it now.

Two more dark s from Mexico - Potro (like English stout) and Caballero Aguila (porter). I think they may put mole con chocolate in them like a lot of their cooking.

and this one from Bulgaria that I don't know how to write on this keyboard.

Discovery ale, Dundee (Not the Fullers of the same name).

Fickleshole ale, Fickleshole (But from Reigate)

London Pride

BSA and TEA from Hogs Back Brewery

Shere Drop, Shere.

Mean Time, a dark London Stout,

Research is still ongoing but so far above and beyond all others are any of the s from Cerna Hora in the Czech Republic. Presently doing extensive testing in the north of South America but early indications point to Cerna Hora maintaining its lead.

So many s, so little time, still, mustn't grumble. Is this sort of scientific research for the good of mankind tax deductible?

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
