Boring British

Are the British turning into a bunch of boring old wankers now that everything is ruled by their leftwing nanny state or is there hope for them yet.

dunno, I think they're pretty rooted by political correctness, I recall reading the british police had an advertisement with a picture of a cute puppy on it and they had to take them all down because dogs offend some religions for being 'dirty'.

Sharia Law

Sadly, I am afraid England is lost. I read that parts of England are adopting
Sharia Law. How insane is that! It is suicide. Alas, I think it is true, liberalism is a mental disorder.

A country and a people I love and admire all down the tube for political correctness.

Mr. Churchill is turning his grave.

RIP England

Bash Plates and the British

"I only know what I read in the newspapers" (Will Rogers quote) , but I have noticed great attention, on the part of the British riders, to their bash plates. Does this have any political significance, I don't know. Do you? Just kidding Wayne.... xfiltrate

Man, it ain`t that bad over here.

Ok, the country is being run by the Missing Link but there isn`t any Sharia law over here and won`t ever be (well not for the next few months anyway!).

Hmmmm.... Seems a lot has changed since I left there 9 months ago, and certainly a lot since I visited in July.

Perhaps I should email my mates more often to really keep abreast of what is happening....

That said, multi-cultural sensitivity is a positive thing but political correctness, the malignant version of the former, is the slow demise of independent thought...

Liable to get yourself headbutted mate.... maybe by one of your own staff!

None us relish political correctness .... to a point.

Nanny State? Are you currently paying taxes in the UK that help pay for your national health program? Do you pay tax in Ecuador or Colombia?

I guess in the USA we don't have a Nanny State since 70 million people and 20 million children, have no health insurance at all. Nada.

In the end, this costs the taxpayers (you know, the actual working people paying for the Nanny state) about triple the cost because folks show up at emergency rooms for care, hospitals and private insurance companies "bone" the govt. and over charge for everything. No one complains, no one is asking, the govt. just pays. Actually .... we all pay!

You should thank God you're so called UK Nanny State and its leaders have thought better of it's role in the losing Iraq and Afganistan wars. We can't have a Nanny State anymore cause our country is fookin' broke ... to the tune of 3 Trillion dollars in debt to the Chinese. So Bush and Company (include McCain in this cabal)have dug us into massive debt, set off a massive panic on Wall Street (yes, they are related). I won't see the recovery in my lifetime.

Major Corporations are the ones sucking off the teat of the Nanny State. Oil companies, Weapons makers, and companies like Monsanto and Carhgill who are controlling food markets world wide. Big UK companies are playing this same game, all controlled by the same multinationals.

Hey Al, will your pension still be there for you when you come home?
I'm sure you won't accept it and will donate it to your favorite football team.
If you took it, you'd be on the dole, living off that evil Left Wing Nanny State.

Al, you really should read some history. Very educational mate.
Oooo Deary me stirred up someone eh!
Yes I do pay taxes in Ecuador and Colombia and No I won,t be going home for any pension.
I,ll be down here in the third world exploiting the poor!!!
You know by giving them work and paying a reasonable wage etc.
Feel free to tell us all your cures for the woes of todays world,I,m sure we,d all like to know! very easy to complain. Not so easy to come up with a viable alternative.

Mistake

Al,

Obviously someone or something has got under your skin.

My advice to you is that you make a mistake whenever you tar one nation with one brush, no matter who they are.

All you can do is judge individuals by their actions, as I am sure most HUBBERs will do from your recent posts.

My recent posts are simply an atempt to get some kind of interesting discussion going on this otherwise dull part of this site. You,re not helping the boring British thing.
All those speed cameras and petty laws must be getting you down.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
