Anyone twitter?
 

Hey there,

I have just signed up to twitter to kill some time at work, and it does that perfectly :)

But, would be interesting to know if anyone else from the HUBB twitters? I'd love to follow some people in prep mode.

I signed up for it, because I kept getting e-mails telling me people on my MSN list were inviting me to do so, but I don't really get how it works, and so haven't twittered, tweeted, whatever it is.

But if someone wants to tell me how it works I'll twork all day long.

Well bear in mind I am new to it too.

It seems to be a cross between instant message, facebook and a bulliten board.

Essentially you can leave short messagees about what you are doing, and those who follow will see these messages. Two examples from me were: 'Added bangladesh to our route.' And 'Going to buy this camera, is it any good'. If you so wish you can answer a message too.

Each message must be less than 140 characters.

You can sign up to follow friends and or celebraties. Stephan Fry and Jonathon Ross being two of the most subscribed. So, once you have 20 or os people to follow, you get messages all day to read!

Its all very irrelevant, but keeps me amused (for two days so far!). Would be much more interesting if I was following people's treavelling preparations as well.

It's very simple once you sign up and start using it, so probably the best way to figure it out is to sign up and give it a go. I'll follow you, so you don't feel like you are talking to no one!

Cant people live there lives without pasting it all over the internet. Get a life lads, go down the pub or work in a chartity shop.:thumbdown:

Spending your time, on an internet bulliten board telling people to get a life and go down the pub rather than spend it on, er, the internet!

Seems ironic to me.

Anyhow, if you don't like something, fair enough ... I'll take your views on board and put them in my 'to be reviewed' drawer!

I am in the office working hard in the banking sector to keep this great Nation on the up and up, I dont spend all day on the internet, I am only on there between the hours of 09.30 to 17.00 while busy at work.

Aha ,so perusing HU is condusive to good banking practise .

your Money is always safe in my hands, I wont be around much today as its my turn at the banking trbuinal. Must sound convincing when I say sorry for not putting the decimal point in the wrong place for the last ten years.

I use it to tweet about anything semi-interesting in my life, hopefully I'll use it on the road too if something isn't worth the hassle of a blog post! :)

Not using twitter - probably never will. I'm on so many different forums that if i really want to keep peeps informed i just leave lots of ststus updates on Facebook via the mobile thingy.
