Alpha and Omega of Motorcycles

Eat your livers KTM owners, BMW's GS is still the beginning and the end of adventure riding.

The commentary to this is nothing short of hilarious! blinkered or what? and before I'm flamed, I own and ride an R80gs.
Is it April 1st ??

As soon as I'd listened to the opening lines, I knew it was from HalfThrottle, he posted up a load of similarly corny videos last year on YouTube & then cross posted on a variety of forums, all were laughable. One claimed that the KLR was the most powerful "enduro" bike abaout purely because it was cheap???

Here's more of his stuff:

I don't recall anyone calling you an "ass hole".

I do remember some of the strange claims you made in other threads & your videos that were not entirely accurate i.e. the GS being an Enduro bike when it's definitely not.

I'm putting that in my Parody folder, along with Hitler!

A great spoof!

My goal with that video was to out do BMW's own advertising dept. Would have been nice to get some better footage, but I was filming by myself, so I had to run ahead set up the tripod and ride past it over and over. It was a pain.

Right, and I also say the GS motorcycle defied gravity and rode up the side of a building. But the part that you can't get past is me calling it an "Enduro bike"

What I'm doing here is making fun of people who worship one type of motorcycle, sometimes to the point of racism. All bikes are good at what they were designed to do. Like a Harley Davidson looking good on the back of a trailer.

It's all for a laugh dude.

Nice job, funny stuff. I especially liked the footage being stuck in the sand!
Have you posted this over on ADV rider GSpot forum? They have a great sense of humor there .... I'm sure they'll love it. :innocent: (just watch out they don't spill BMW Kool-Aid on you! )

I just heard some funny stories from the latest BMW GS1200GS US Press intro event in the Sierra. They had a storm blow in and trapped the whole press core. Some brave souls tried to ride out. All the mags will be running this story soon,
including Jimmy Lewis in Dirt Rider, plus all the glossies and regional publications.

Wish you could have had your camera there to hear BMW's spin on this one. :Beach:

The graviton-thrustor on my GS is broken and the bike is out of warranty. Otherwise I would have shown more of that stuff in the video.

I post in the Jo Momma section of Advrider often. Since my video's aren't exactly educational, and I can get away with anything in Jo Momma.

I would love to follow the GS promotional people around, and help them come up with all sorts of new hyperbole for the ad campaigns. I'll keep an eye out for the crazy stories in the moto mags, thanks for the tip.
