Vladivostok

Hi,

I am in Vladivostok and am looking for a rear and front sprockets for my F650 GS Dakar 2006. They are JTF402.16 and JTR500.47

Do somebody knows where can I find it? Or which is the best store to ask for the deliver?

I will go to Magadan in 4 days and could be send to there.

Thanks a lot.

Ivan.

Here's a link for all of the BMW dealers in Russia:

Мотоциклы BMW в России

The closest one to you is in Krasnoyarsk. The bad news is that these dealers carry virtually no parts, and to order something from Germany takes 30 days. But give them a call, who knows, maybe they'll have a sprocket.

Another HUBBer (KLRKestrel) is currently stuck somewhere out in Siberia, having ordered a F650 part from the US, but apparently it is currently stuck in customs in Moscow. I seriously doubt it would be quicker to ship to Magadan, which is literally "at the end of the line".

Another option is to find a Russian mechanic to fab/modify a similar sprocket. Russians are, by necessity, great at stuff like this. There is a moto club in Vladi that could probably hook you up, you'll probably find them if you search this site.

Bottom line is to bring BMW parts which commonly fail, or need to be replaced, with you to Russia...

Did you Try Vald Moto? http://www.vladmoto.ru/

WTF? Most of the text from my post has been deleted...anyway, to repeat:

--If you order a part from abroad, chances are quite high it will be stuck in customs in Moscow for quite a while. and don't send it to Magadan, it will certainly take longer to get there than to Vladi, etc.

--your best best is probably to find a russian mechanic to modify/fab a sprocket for you. By necessity, Russians are great at this, I'm sure the local bike club in Vladi could point you in the right direction; do a search here for contacts, etc.

Actually, I have meet today the Iron Angels motoclub here in Vlad, Great guys. Maybe it will take 2 weeks. But nothing is sure.

I have heard about the mechanic modify... Could be the best way.
